The 80G FM radar level meter antenna emits a very narrow microwave pulse, which travels in space at the speed of light, encounters the surface of the measured medium, and some of its energy is reflected back and received by the same antenna. The time interval between transmitting pulse and receiving pulse is proportional to the distance between the antenna and the measured medium surface, so the distance between the antenna and the measured medium surface is calculated.
